Silent Hill 2 Remake

Konami has officially announced that the Silent Hill 2 Remake has surpassed five million players worldwide. This figure includes both physical and digital sales, as well as players who accessed the game through subscription services.

In a message shared on the official X profile of the survival horror series, the company stated: “The game has surpassed 5 million players worldwide in total.” The post also included a message of appreciation: “Thank you to all who have played.”

The announcement clarifies that the numbers include not only copies sold in physical and digital formats, but also players who tried the remake through subscription services. In particular, the data counts users who accessed the game through PlayStation Plus Extra and PlayStation Plus Premium.

Konami also noted that the player data statistics for Silent Hill 2 are up to date as of January 31, 2026. The company may provide another updated sales report in April, which would include the results from the first quarter of the year.

The remake has been very well received by critics, earning high review scores and proving to be a strong modernized version of the classic horror title. The success of the game has also helped silence early doubts from those who believed Bloober Team might struggle to deliver a worthy remake.

In fact, the strong work done by the Polish studio has already led Konami to partner with Bloober Team again. The companies are now working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, which has officially entered production.
