While we’re waiting to find out the release date for Silent Hill f, something surprising seems to be happening with the Silent Hill 2 Remake. A mysterious update on Steam suggests that new content could be coming for this well-loved survival horror game, which was released in October 2024 for PC and PS5.
According to a Reddit user who looked into the update on SteamDB, the Silent Hill 2 Remake page received an update in early May that mentioned a DLC. Up until now, Konami and Bloober Team have not announced any additional content for the game, but it seems like something might be coming soon, unless this is just a mistake.
The idea of additional content for Silent Hill 2 Remake isn’t far-fetched, especially considering how well the game has done. The original Silent Hill 2 received the extra Born from a Wish scenario for its Xbox version, which was later added to the Director’s Cut for PS2.
If a DLC is in development, there’s a real chance that the Born from a Wish might make a return, maybe even expanded in both gameplay and story. For now, we’ll have to wait for confirmation or a denial from the developers.
In other news, the developers of Silent Hill f have confirmed that it is an independent story within the franchise, and it serves as a perfect starting point for newcomers to the Silent Hill series.
