The time has come at last. Following the overwhelming critical and financial success of 2024’s Silent Hill 2 Remake, it seemed like only a matter of time until other classic entries in the franchise would seep, like fog, back into the public consciousness with their own remakes. Just eight months out from SH2R‘s release, Konami have already answered fans’ prayers with the announcement of a remake of the original Silent Hill. Unveiled at the company’s KONAMI PRESS START event, details are currently scarce, but there’s one key piece of information revealed that will drive spectulation over the coming months; the game’s developer.
Bloober Team, developers of Silent Hill 2 Remake (alongside hit titles such as Layers of Fear and Blair Witch), are returning to helm Silent Hill. Whilst we do not know the makeup of this team yet and cannot discern whether it will comprise many of the minds behind SH2R, given the success of that game, there’s likely to be a continuity of vision between the products. That’s all we really know though, and any further discussion will delve into the territory of informed guesswork.
Whilst the remake is seemingly early in development, it hopefully won’t be too long until more details come our way and, when they do, Rely On Horror will be there to make sure you’re informed of them. Stay tuned!
