Shadow Warrior 2 announced; includes 4 player co-op

A sequel to Flying Wild Hog’s 2013 Shadow Warrior reboot has been formally announced. After a few teases from the developer, the sequel has been revealed today with an announcement from publisher Devolver Digital. There’s also a ridiculous trailer available, complete with more Wang jokes.

Shadow Warrior 2 will see the return of assassin Lo Wang and his many swords and guns. This time he can be accompanied by three partners, as Shadow Warrior 2 supports 4 player co-op. Hang with your buddies and kill some demons in what’s sure to be an over-the-top sausage fest of demon killing action.

The game takes place five years after the events of the first game. As a result of Wang trying to rid the world from the influence of the Shadow Realm, the demons found a way in, situating themselves and spreading across the land. Shadow Warrior 2 is said to have customizable armor, over 70 weapons, many upgrades, and a procedurally generated world.

Shadow Warrior 2 is due out on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2016. World premier footage will be shown on Twitch.TV Monday, June 15th at 12:30PM Pacific.
