Resident Evil Requiem Reaches Another Sales Milestone and Sets a New Record for the Series

Resident Evil Requiem

Sales of Resident Evil Requiem continue to grow, with the game now reaching 6 million copies sold worldwide.

The new entry in Capcom’s long-running horror series has been a major success with both critics and players since launch. According to a press release shared by Capcom a few hours ago, the game has passed the 6 million sales mark worldwide since its release on February 27.

Capcom also confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem is the fastest title in the series to reach this milestone, setting a new record for the franchise. Future games in the series will now have to match or surpass this result.

Interestingly, the game had already reached 5 million units sold on March 4, which means that around one million additional copies were sold in less than two weeks.

The Resident Evil franchise as a whole had already reached 183 million copies sold worldwide by the end of last December. With the strong performance of Resident Evil Requiem, the series could move closer to the 200 million copies milestone in the near future.

In the press release, Capcom also mentioned that the Resident Evil series will celebrate its 30th anniversary on March 22. To mark the occasion, the company has announced several special projects.

These include “a collaboration between Universal Studios Japan and Resident Evil Requiem in 2026, and orchestral concerts in Japan, the US, and Europe.”

In other news, Capcom has officially confirmed that a major story expansion for the game is currently in development.
