Resident Evil Requiem Reaches 7 Million Copies Sold in Less Than Two Months

Capcom has one more reason to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Resident Evil series. The latest game, Resident Evil Requiem, has officially passed 7 million copies sold, reaching an impressive commercial milestone.

The news was shared by Koshi Nakanishi on his personal Instagram. The Game Director of Resident Evil Requiem celebrated the achievement together with his development team at Capcom, even showing a special custom cake that confirmed the game had reached 7 million copies sold since its launch.

Resident Evil Requiem was released at the end of February for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. What makes this result even more impressive is that the game reached 7 million copies in less than two months, and it did so without cross-gen versions that could have helped push sales even higher.

When compared to other modern Resident Evil games, Requiem’s success becomes even more interesting. Resident Evil 3 Remake and Resident Evil 4 Remake sold 10.99 million and 12.25 million copies. Resident Evil Village reached 13.59 million copies in total.

The best-selling modern games in the series are still Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 7, with 16.87 million and 16.47 million copies sold by the end of December 2025. Even so, Requiem’s fast start shows that it has the potential to become one of the biggest Resident Evil games ever, especially if sales continue at this speed in the coming months.
