Soon after the massive launch of Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom confirmed that it was already working on DLC content. It’s now been months since we heard anything from the developer, but it seems as though some details have accidentally emerged.
While Capcom has yet to officially reveal anything about the DLC, one of RE9‘s key writers may have let loose some details about it. In a recent YouTube interview, Requiem‘s Haris Orkin teased what players can expect from the new content.
According to Orkin, the DLC will explore Oswell E. Spencer’s story further. Orkin stated:
We have an arc for Spencer in Resident Evil Requiem. They kind of, you know, understand that more and in the DLC for Requiem, you will understand it even further. So yeah! I probably shouldn’t say that, but yeah.
While the writer didn’t reveal much else, such as a release date, his comments at least give us an idea of what to (possibly) expect from the upcoming expansion in terms of a potential storyline.
Not too long ago, notable Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem also claimed that a return to the original Spencer Mansion was originally planned for RE9. According to the leaker, while the area was ultimately scrapped from the main game, it could be repurposed for the DLC.
Of course, neither the Spencer Mansion claim nor any specific details about the DLC have been officially confirmed by Capcom at the time of writing. However, Orkin’s comments make the idea of expanding Spencer’s story particularly interesting. For now, fans will have to wait for an official reveal.
