Resident Evil Requiem Opens Pre-Orders, Celebrates Nearly 30 Years of Survival Horror

Resident Evil Requiem

Capcom has officially opened pre-orders for Resident Evil Requiem, the next major installment in the legendary survival horror franchise, launching February 27, 2026.

To mark the occasion, a new Road to Requiem video revisits nearly three decades of Resident Evil history, from the haunting corridors of the Spencer Mansion to the gothic spires of Castle Dimitrescu.

Players can now secure the Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes five alternate costumes — such as Grace’s Costume: Dimitrescu and Apocalypse — plus four weapon skins, two screen filters, two charms, an audio pack, and additional collectible files hidden throughout the game. Plus, a physical Deluxe edition includes a premium steelbook and additional goodies, available at GameStop in the US.

Resident Evil Requiem

Requiem introduces Grace Ashcroft, a sharp-minded FBI agent who becomes trapped in a crisis beyond comprehension. Blending the investigative elements of earlier entries with tense combat, puzzle solving, and resource management, Resident Evil Requiem allows players to freely switch between first- and third-person perspectives.

Newcomers can dive straight in, while longtime fans will find familiar callbacks woven throughout the experience.

On PlayStation 5, DualSense features such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback further heighten the immersion.

Capcom’s announcement also emphasizes the franchise’s enduring partnership with PlayStation, tracing back to the 1996 debut of Resident Evil and its sequels Resident Evil 2 and 3, through to the evolution of the series in Resident Evil 4, 7: Biohazard, and Village.

With Requiem just four months away, Capcom invites fans old and new to revisit the series’ roots before confronting its chilling new chapter. After nearly thirty years, Resident Evil continues to redefine what survival horror can be, and Requiem looks set to carry that legacy into the next generation.
