Resident Evil 30th Anniversary Book ‘Biohazard 30th Special’ Revealed

The Resident Evil franchise marked its 30th anniversary earlier this year in March. Over the past three decades, it has become one of the most successful survival horror franchises in gaming. To celebrate the milestone, Capcom and publisher Nikkei BP have announced a commemorative book titled Nikkei Entertainment! BIOHAZARD 30th Special (Nikkei BP Mook).

The exclusive special edition goes on sale Friday, September 25, 2026. Pre-orders are already live and available through major Japanese retailers.

The book explores the 30-year history of the iconic Resident Evil franchise from multiple perspectives.

Its features include:

  • A series timeline that revisits each entry alongside the trends and buzzwords of its era;
  • A character relationship chart and story timeline that examines the connections between the series’ iconic characters;
  • A creature lineage guide that systematically traces the evolution of the franchise’s memorable monsters and bio-weapons;
  • A variety of special features ranging from serious analysis to fun, lighthearted content.

The book will also include interviews with actress Shihori Kanjiya, who made her video game voice-acting debut as the Japanese voice actor for Grace Ashcroft in Resident Evil: Requiem, as well as behind-the-scenes insights from the development team.

It will retail for around ¥2,420 yen (approximately $16 USD) and span roughly 124 pages. The book is now available for pre-order through official Japanese retailers, including Amazon Japan, 7net (Seven Net), and HMV&BOOKS Online.
