New Resident Evil Requiem Trailer Highlights DLSS 4, Path Tracing, and New Urban Locations

NVIDIA and Capcom have released a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, designed to highlight the game’s impressive graphics and the use of RTX technologies, while also revealing a few new locations.

The trailer serves as a showcase for DLSS 4, particularly Path Tracing — a lighting technique that realistically simulates how light behaves — combined with Multi Frame Generation to maintain high frame rates even in demanding scenes.

Beyond showing off the game’s technical power and NVIDIA’s features, several short sequences offer a glimpse of new urban areas, possibly connected to Wrenwood, the fictional city where part of the story is expected to take place.

It’s still unclear whether these sections will be part of a fully playable area, but it’s worth noting that the well-known insider DuskGolem, a reliable source on Resident Evil news, has previously hinted at the inclusion of “big open levels” within the game. This suggests that one of these new locations could indeed be an open urban environment for players to explore freely.

Fortunately, fans may not have to wait long for confirmation. Capcom has already announced a new Resident Evil Showcase for the early weeks of the year, where more details about Requiem are expected, ahead of its official release on February 27th.
