Well-known leaker NateTheHate has once again spoken about the rumored Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake, a project that has been circulating in rumors for quite some time. According to him, the game is in an advanced stage of development, and its release may not be very far away.
While the launch is not said to be imminent, the fact that development is already well underway is notable, especially since Capcom has not officially announced the remake yet. NateTheHate suggests that the game could arrive in the first half of 2027, which would be surprisingly soon for a title that has yet to be revealed publicly.
According to the leaker, Capcom is currently targeting the first half of 2027 as the release window. This timing would make sense given the company’s release schedule. Resident Evil Requiem is set to launch next month, meaning 2026 will already feature a major new entry in the series. As a result, Capcom may want to give that title enough room before launching another high-profile Resident Evil project.
This would allow the remake series to alternate with the mainline entries. Roughly a year after the release of the next high-profile game, Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake could then reach the market, following an official announcement and proper showcase in the meantime.
In related news, another source has claimed that the Resident Evil Code: Veronica remake is ahead of schedule and will feature a major role for Wesker.
Yes, Code Veronica is being remade & deep in development. Target of release is first half 2027.
