Every year, Kinetic Games rolls out a special Halloween update for its hit ghost hunting title Phasmophobia. This year is, of course, no exception, as the “Crimson Eye” event has started rolling out. As always, it’s replete with new challenges and everything is bathed in an eerie glow (this time red).
The update technically began on October 7, implementing some preparations, including a couple of small fixes, but now the main event is upon us. Veterans of the game will already be familiar, seeing the return of temporary changes to some of the maps, including Nell’s Diner.
In this version of Crimson Eye, players will be tasked with “hunting down Blood Moon totems and completing investigations and optional objectives to earn points.” Naturally, you’ll also have to complete tasks while “under the threat of Blood Moon weather,” which makes things that much more difficult.

There are a couple of Phasmophobia-specific goodies, including the traditional Double XP & Rewards scheme. This will take place between October 15 and October 22. You can also earn a seasonal event T-shirt and Beholder ID Card & Badge set for your character.
The recent update also came with a new feature: a Seasonal Event toggle. As the name implies, this allows players to turn on/off events (including future ones) if they don’t wish to play them.
Here’s a list of all the maps that will be receiving the Crimson Eye changes:
- 6 Tanglewood Drive
- 42 Edgefield Road
- Grafton Farmhouse
- 13 Willow Street
- Bleasdale Farmhouse
- Point Hope (Standard only, Point Hope Restricted will not be included)
- Camp Woodwind
- Nell’s Diner
