Perceptum is a psychological horror game announced earlier this year by indie developer Duck Reaction, where players take on the role of a medium investigating a family’s disappearance.
While the developers didn’t reveal a release plan for the title when it was announced, the team confirmed during Gamescom Opening Night Live that Perceptum will release in Spring 2027 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The developer has also released a new trailer on its official YouTube channel showcasing the game’s release window.
Perceptum is a short psychological horror game centred around the investigation of a vanished family. You play as a medium who enters their home, searching for clues that could reveal what happened to them. To help with the investigation, the game gives players several supernatural tools.
Your only weapons are a mirror and the ability to close your eyes. Your mirror reveals what cannot be seen with the naked eye, exposing hidden traces and unsettling reflections. Closing your eyes leaves you vulnerable, forcing you to rely on altered sounds and distant whispers to navigate your surroundings. As you explore the house, curiosity and unease grow side by side. The atmosphere is oppressive, and the feeling of being watched never fully fades.
Tension runs throughout the experience, shifting between quiet oppression and intense moments of fear. The house reacts to your presence, and the mirror serves as both a tool and a threat. When something finally reveals itself, there is no way to fight back. Although the game lasts only about 3 to 4 hours, it emphasizes atmosphere and tension over combat.
You can watch the Release Window trailer below and wishlist Perceptum on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
