‘Necrophosis: Full Consciousness’ to Release on PC and Consoles This Year

Necrophosis: Full Consciousness

Lovecraftian horror continues its slew of releases for consoles. Publisher PQube (Tormented Souls 2) has announced it is partnering with Dragonis Games to bring Necrophosis: Full Consciousness to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series in 2026.

This expanded console release packages the original Necrophosis together with its new DLC expansion, Necrophosis: Subconsciousness, forming a complete psychological horror experience inspired by the paintings of Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński.

The game will launch digitally on all platforms, while the physical PlayStation 5 edition sweetens the deal with a second title from the developer, The Shore, a separate horror adventure about a grieving father exploring a forbidden island filled with Lovecraftian horrors.

Necrophosis is a first-person psychological horror game built around exploration and puzzle solving. Players awaken as a mysterious consciousness inhabiting a decaying body, stranded in a grotesque realm where death and rot have become permanent fixtures of reality.

Game Features:

  • Roam the cursed lands: Awaken as consciousness itself in a realm of death, a world consumed by Necrophosis. Explore freely through its dark macabre landscapes where all things rot and decay eternally.
  • Echoes of the dying cosmos: Navigate eerie landscapes, grotesque architecture and haunting visuals that bring Lovecraftian and cosmic horror to life.
  • Uncover hidden truths: Delve into evocative narrative poems and unravel the world’s enigmatic backstory while engaging with decayed gods caught in an eternal cycle of death and rebirth.
  • Master chilling puzzles: Solve unsettling puzzles as you explore a world consumed by rot. Certain challenges demand brain detachment and possession, while others rely on careful observation.
  • Confront the unnatural: Face gods, eldritch entities, and Lovecraftian beings who have taken refuge here, learning their histories and the horrors they embody.
  • Haunting soundscapes: Each environment features minimalist, droning ambience, layered with whispers, distant groans, and echoing cryptic voices that heighten tension and unease.
  • Second Awakening: Return to the realm of death in the Necrophosis: Subconsciousness expansion. Explore new landscapes, entities, and stories as your journey leads ever deeper.

The included Subconsciousness DLC pushes the experience even further, introducing new locations, entities, and story threads that expand on the original game’s mythology. Necrophosis: Full Consciousness is currently slated to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later this year. You can watch the IGN Fan Fest 2026 trailer below.
