The Event is a first-person psychological horror game announced by Italian solo indie game developer Lazy Games. It draws inspiration from classic psychological titles that eschew combat to truly scare and terrify players.
The game takes players to a creepy, abandoned asylum, where they wake up with no memory of who they are or how they got there. The players will have to explore the place to find clues and notes left by former staff and patients to understand everything. Players will have to uncover the mysterious “The Event” that changed everything, hence the name.
It won’t be as easy as it sounds because while uncovering the truth about the asylum, players will encounter paranormal phenomena, terrifying entities and much more when looking out for the truth. Players won’t have to fight them but win it through their investigation and the truth.

- A smart traveler: The protagonist will be your ally in solving the story by accompanying the player with his personality and his thoughts that can be consulted by interacting and finding items in the asylum.

- Event Reconstruction: Nothing will be revealed directly to the player. The protagonist will have to find out the truth about what happened by exploring the corners of the asylum.
- Unpredictable Situations: The player will be inadvertently surprised by the antagonists and by the terrifying situations that populate the asylum.
The developers have also released a nearly minute-long announcement trailer, which can be seen below. The Event is set to release on Steam on the 3rd of October 2026. The demo is also available for the game, allowing players to try the experience before its full release.
