DreadXP to Publish Throwback Survival Horror ‘Heartworm’

DreadXP, publishers of indie horror hits such as My Friendly Neighborhood,  announced today that they will publish the retro psychological survival horror title Heartworm.

The game, aimed towards fans of old-school entries in franchises such as Silent Hill and Resident Evil, follows a grieving young woman named Sam. Spending her days lost in the internet, seeking out the macarbe, Sam stumbles across the unexplainable and enters a world of terror in the process.

PSX-inspired graphics meet modern conveniences in a package that features hallmarks of the genre; (optional) tank controls, multiple endings, pre-rendered cutscenes, and lots of head-scratching puzzles.

Heartworm looks like a dream game for 90’s survival horror fanatics, feeling both familiar and fresh in equal measure.

HeartwormHeartworm is set to release in 2025 for Windows PCs via Steam. You can watch a trailer for the game below and play a free demo, which is available now.
