IllFonic and Gun Interactive have announced Halloween, the official video game based on the famous horror franchise. The reveal came with a first trailer shown at the Future Games Show during Gamescom 2025. The video set a chilling atmosphere but did not reveal much about the gameplay.
There is no release date yet, but Halloween has been confirmed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. More information about the launch timeline will come later, but it seems there is still some time before the game’s debut. This first trailer mainly gives us a glimpse of the unique setting and atmosphere.
The presenters highlighted that the game will include both single player and multiplayer modes. Unlike many other stealth horror titles that are only multiplayer, Halloween will feature a story campaign for solo play.
This means players will experience a proper narrative in single player mode, while additional multiplayer options will be detailed later by IllFonic and Gun Interactive.
The project’s executive producer is none other than John Carpenter, which should ensure strong fidelity to the original material. This is already clear in the trailer, which captures the classic atmosphere of the film series with a distinctive 1970s–80s look.
“Become the Boogeyman or fight against evil itself in Halloween, the latest singleplayer and multiplayer horror experience from IllFonic and Gun Interactive,” reads the official description, inviting players to step into the iconic action of the series.
At least in terms of multiplayer, the gameplay seems to follow the classic asymmetrical 1v4 structure, allowing players to either become a hero who can save Haddonfield or take on the role of Michael Myers to spread terror across the town.
