‘Fright Train’ Brings Locomotive Survival Horror to PC This Fall

Fright Train will launch for PC via Steam on September 15, 2026, developer WildArts Games has officially announced. The game is being developed by WildArts Games and published by Black Lantern Collective.

The game is a single-player, third-person survival horror title set on the L.R.S. Great White, a huge research station built inside a fast-moving train. The train is crossing the Antarctic ice cap, but something has gone very wrong inside.

Players take the role of Doug Barker, a new paranormal special agent who has just joined P.A.W. (Paranormal Agency Worldwide). Doug is sent to the train after an unknown distress signal is received from the L.R.S. Great White.

The train belongs to SHARK, a secretive company linked to strange and dangerous research. With help from an operator at P.A.W. headquarters, Doug must move through the train and stop the interdimensional horrors released by SHARK.

Key features:

  • Intense gore and a gorgeous mid-2000s-inspired aesthetic.
  • Meaningful and tactical inventory management.
  • A volatile combat ecosystem in which enemy behaviors intertwine, allowing them to support or sabotage one another.
  • A chilling story that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

It’s s worth noting that the game has not been announced for consoles. This may be because it is being developed by a small two-person studio based in Québec, Canada. Given the size of the team, the developers are focusing all of their early resources on the PC release through Steam.

In addition, a free Fright Train demo is currently available on Steam for players who want to try the game before launch.
