The first of the four-part Making Of series of Quantic Dream’s Beyond: Two Souls has been released. The video features interviews from David Cage, the writer and director of the game, and actors, such as Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe. The video starts off Cage discussing his personal and emotional inspiration for Beyond; losing a close family member. The challenges behind creating Beyond‘s story are discussed by members of the development team and how the scope of the project impressed the actors in the game.
Overall, the video looks and sounds a lot like the Making Ofs that you’d typically find for an upcoming film. The actors speak highly of the project, how it was working with the director, how envelopes are getting pushed, and so forth. These type of things don’t really impress me, but my interest in Beyond is still pretty high. It truly looks like it might be a knockout.
Hopefully, the next three parts of the video series show off how the gameplay is being approached for this game and what Quantic Dream has learned from its last game, Heavy Rain. The second episode in the series will release next week.
