In a surprosing move, Fear Effect has just shadow-dropped digitally for PS5 and PS4, PC, and Switch!
Originally developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment, and created by the visionary Stan Liu, Fear Effect (2000) and it’s sequel, Fear Effect: Retro Helix (2001) are two of the most unique games of the genre and popularized the cel-shaded aesthetic in games in the early 2000s.
The re-release of the game is being published by Limited Run Games, who is also releasing physical versions in both Standard and Deluxe Editions of the game for PS5 and Switch. Unfortunately, the pre-order window closed on July 27th, but it’s possible some copies may come back in stock during one of Limited Run Games’ future Vault Drops.
The physical versions are set to release in December 2025.
