Eternal Haunt is a first-person atmospheric survival horror game developed and published by True Ronin Games, a 3-man, independent game developer focused on creating immersive, story-driven horror experiences. The title is still a year away as the team plans to launch it next year.
The game is inspired by Amnesia: The Dark Descent, and takes place in the old Japan. Just now, the team confirmed that a playable demo of the game was released. It offers 30–45 minutes of gameplay, giving players a first look at the game’s chilling atmosphere and mechanics.
Eternal Haunt doesn’t have a complex story, as the game focuses more on atmosphere and mystery. It lets you play as someone who’s exploring a haunted place that is tied to a tragic past. As players make their way to the place, they would realize that something terrible happened there years ago.
The Haunt is caused by a past crime or betrayal that was never resolved, and by a restless spirit, or spirits, out there. As players explore deeper, they can find clues and notes that reveal the truth about what happened to the place.
Players can check out the Eternal Haunt demo on Steam. Although an exact release date hasn’t been officially confirmed, True Ronin Games is currently aiming for an October 2027 launch.
