Escape a Selfish God in Psychological Horror Platformer ‘LOVE ETERNAL’ Out Now on PC, Consoles

LOVE ETERNAL

LOVE ETERNAL, the unconventional horror platformer about escaping the domain of a selfish god, launches today on PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

Developed by brlka and published by Ysbryd Games (WORLD OF HORROR, VA-11 Hall-A, Demonschool), LOVE ETERNAL follows a teenager named Maya, who’s life becomes a waking nightmare following a mundane family dinner. One moment, she’s feuding with her parents over dinner, and the next, her family has vanished, her home lies in ruins, and the world around her has been reshaped into an eerie, desolate realm.

Abducted by a powerful, ancient god, Maya must navigate this hostile domain resembling an Iron Age castle, uncover the truth behind her captor’s motives, and fight to reclaim her reality before she, too, becomes another forgotten relic within its walls.

To survive, Maya must master the impossible, including the ability to bend gravity at will and flip between floors and ceilings mid-leap to traverse the crumbling chambers of a labyrinthine castle. Players must carefully plan jump arcs, trigger environmental mechanisms, and chain precise springs and flips together to clear gaping chasms, razor-sharp spikes, and searing lasers. Each room presents a tightly crafted platforming puzzle that demands momentum, timing, and spatial awareness all while the god’s watchful presence threatens to shift reality beneath Maya’s feet.

Beyond the castle’s deadly trials lies a desolate and atmospheric world of uncanny reflections and neglected histories. Players will explore towering ruins, submerged caverns, and distorted echoes of Maya’s own suburban home, all underscored by haunting ambient soundscapes. You will l also encounter other prisoners and monstrous doppelgängers of Maya’s loved ones who present unnerving takes on what has transpired within the god’s castle. In this surreal odyssey, escape is not just about outmaneuvering a god; it’s about facing what waits at the crossroads of isolation and humiliation.

Toby Alden, designer at brlka, elaborated on the game’s unique design philosophy, saying:

LOVE ETERNAL is, to my knowledge, the first game to combine precision platforming with psychological horror; but even beyond this obvious novelty, the game unfolds in a way I think no player will be able to fully anticipate. I’m very excited to finally reveal the moments and characters and world we’ve created, and I think anyone who rolls credits on this game will be able to say they had at least one entirely new experience.

LOVE ETERNAL is now available on PlayStation 5|4, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam for USD $9.99. It supports English, Simplified Chinese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, Spanish, and Russian.
