Hotline Miami was one of my favorite games of 2012 and I am looking forward to its sequel, Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, which will release in Q3 of this year. I was surprised, however, when Dennaton Games announced a level editor for the upcoming sequel that will allow players to create their own stages for others to play.
Based on what we’re shown in the video below, creating a level will be very accessible for the average user. Rooms are seemingly created by dragging the mouse across the screen and then determining where doors are placed, coloring floors is simply selecting a pattern and using a fill tool and items can be searched for in a database and then dropped into the level with ease. Users can also select from a number of different AI types when placing enemies and what kind of weapons those will carry.
