After the successful launch of Silent Hill 2 Remake, the developers at Bloober Team announced their next project, Cronos: The New Dawn, with a planned release date of 2025.
While details about the title remain scarce, the developers recently released a highly praised gameplay trailer. Following that, they unveiled a new developer diary that delves into the game’s combat mechanics in greater depth.
It has already been confirmed that the enemies in Cronos: The New Dawn are called Orphans, and they feature a unique merge mechanic. If you’re wondering what the merge mechanic entails, it essentially allows the Orphans to absorb nearby dead bodies and transform into deadlier forms during battles.
These transformations enable the Orphans to acquire new abilities mid-fight, making them even more formidable and altering the flow of combat in real time. To survive, players must make tactical decisions and maintain strong spatial awareness.
The developers further discussed how players can survive and master the battle by preventing merges using weapons and maintaining a smart position. Players need to be quick, smart, and active if they want to master the fights and enjoy the combat in the game.
The video also showcases all the different Orphans players will encounter, so be sure to check that out. Although the exact release date is yet to be revealed, Cronos: The New Dawn is expected to launch in the fall of 2025.
