Cronos: The New Dawn Release Date Announced for September 5

Cronos: The New Dawn

During the Nintendo Direct livestream from earlier today, Cronos: The New Dawn was showcased with a brand-new trailer, revealing its official release date on September 5. However, the real surprise is that it will also be released on Nintendo Switch 2, marking another significant addition to the lineup of games available on the new hybrid console.

The announcement of the Switch 2 release is significant because the game features highly detailed environments and intense atmospheres, likely taking advantage of the new hardware. Just a few months ago, it seemed like it would only be available on high-end PCs and current-gen consoles. However, thanks to technologies like NVIDIA DLSS, the Nintendo Switch 2 appears capable of handling next-generation titles.

Developed by Bloober Team, the studio behind the remake of Silent Hill 2, Cronos: The New Dawn takes us on a third-person survival horror adventure with dark and retro-futuristic technology. You are a Traveler working for the enigmatic Collective, tasked with scouring the wastelands of the future in search of time rifts that will transport you to 1980s-era Poland.

A physical edition by Skybound games will also be available for PlayStation 5 for $59.99, which includes a unique Traveler skin and access to a stash of digital goodies, along with a set of collectible physical stickers. You can pre-order the physical edition now via Gamestop.

In other news, Konami and Bloober Team has announced a remake of the original Silent Hill, following the success of Silent Hill 2 Remake.

You can watch the new Nintendo Direct trailer for the game below and let us know what you think.
