The long-awaited sequel to Control has finally been officially revealed during The Game Awards 2025, an event packed with announcements. Remedy Entertainment shared the first trailer for Control: Resonant, also confirming its release window.
The Remedy Connected Universe continues to expand after the success of Alan Wake 2. This time, the game introduces a new protagonist named Dylan. The story takes place in the streets of Manhattan. The trailer shows how the action adventure shifts from gunfights to melee combat, as the main character now wields a sword.
Speaking about the game, Mikael Kasurinen, Creative Director of Control: Resonant, said:
CONTROL: Resonant pushes our paranatural action RPG series into an expansive, reality-warping playground of choice, power, and consequence. You don’t have to know the first game to jump into the sequel, we’ve made this one easy to pick up and hard to put down. We’re pushing the scale beyond anything we’ve done before, elevating combat, exploration, and storytelling into a bigger, more memorable experience. It’s ambitious, a little wild, and we can’t wait for players to get lost in it.
Remedy confirmed that Control: Resonant will be released sometime in 2026, though no specific date has been announced yet. The reveal trailer was presented alongside other major announcements and the winners of The Game Awards 2025, which celebrated the best games of the year.
