BloodRayne: Betrayal developer diary discusses sophistication
In the latest developer diary for BloodRayne: Betrayal, design director Sean Velasco discuss making the latest entry in the series more sophisticated. Sean discusses the old look and play-style that the previous entries had, and discusses the direction WayForward has went with Betrayal.
The first thing that anyone will notice about Betrayal is the new sidescroller approach. The game has adopted a slick, and fluid hand drawn style, and a Castlevania-like approach. Sean also discusses how they toned down Rayne’s promiscuity and made her a more believable female character rather than a sex and blood craved dhampir with big breasts.
WayForward has taken the series in an interesting new direction, but I can’t say that I am disappointed. Rayne has never had more style.
