Banned Memories evokes Silent Hill PSX Nostalgia

Craving some PSX-styled Survival horror? Well, the freeware Banned Memories: Yamanashi looks to have you covered. Set in a Japanese school, you play as a former student named Hideo Ueda sent back to solve a mystery. Yamanashi Academy closed after four of its teachers committed terrible crimes over the span of three years. Shortly after the school’s closure, they too died for unknown reasons. The game takes place in 1993 and its visual style matches that of a game released in the 90s. Visually, it looks a lot like the original Silent Hill. It has static camera angles too.

Banned Memories: Yamanashi is a free download on Game Jolt, as is its soundtrack. It’s creator, Noah Pauw, released the game just last week. You can check it out at the source if you’re interested.
