Silent Hill: HD Collection screens rise up; first look at Silent Hill 3

I'm a college student with a huge passion for gaming; horror being my favorite genre. I love being afraid to turn a corner or turn around in my games. The creepier the better.

Quite a few new screens for the Silent Hill: HD Collection have surfaced. James Sunderland is no longer the only one to get the spotlight from this collection. Heather Mason has now been revealed.

Some Silent Hill 2 screens do not have a noise filter like the console versions had by default. The ports are probably being worked on from the PC version of each game, which have optional filters.

Some old design tricks can be spotted in a screen of Silent Hill 3 HD. Who knew the outside world was just another room!

Despite the expected resolution upgrade, it appears that some textures have been improved as well. Pyramid Head’s bloody gown looks less rubbery and more like a fabric. Same with James’s clothing. Someone do a side by side; that means you, Konami. Also, let us hear new Heather. I’m dieing to know who the new actress is. I would be thrilled if it was still Heather Morris.

    I REALLY hope they kept Heather on board to voice. . .erm. . .Heather. It’s probably the deciding factor for me on whether or not I’ll buy this. . .even though Eddie’s new voice actor sounds like Gaara from Naruto. :(

    Have they mentioned if they’ll give us an option to toggle the old voices? That’d be great.

    I have an important question. Is it true that the HD Remakes of RE4 + Code Veronica will only cost 20 dollars, but the SH HD Remakes will cost 50?

    The RE HD ports are download only for $20 each, making the two of them $40 total. Personally I enjoy having boxed copies of games and think its worth an extra $10.

    I would be thrilled to still hear Heather Morris, but sadly I don’t believe that it will happen as it would only be a waste of time to have Heather re-record the same lines over again for her part. It’s the same game; not a remake. As such we’ll just have to wait and see though I wouldn’t be surprised if it was an actress that was in Troy Baker and Mary Elizabeth’s circle of voice over companions. A lot of them in L.A. swim in the same waters together.

    You’d be getting enjoyment out of being ripped off them. Compare this to the prices of other HD collections like God of War, Sly Cooper, and Splinter Cell. Metal Gear Solid has an HD collection coming out, but at least they’ve thrown in Peace Walker alongside MGS 2 and 3.

    This week I tried the SH3 field of view program that turns the image into widescreen with 1920 resolution after hearing about this HD collection, and it looks just like the released images here. I’d say I already played the HD collection.
