Silent Hill 4: The Room now available on Japanese PSN Store

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan announced more Playstation 2 Classics would be coming to the Playstation Network.  One of those classics just happens to the Silent Hill 4: The Room.

According to The Examiner, the game is already available on the Japanese Playstation store for 1200 yen (about $15.00USD) and will eat up 3809MB of space on the hard drive.

No word on when – or even if – the game, as well as other Playstation 2 classics announced will make it to other regions.  One can only hope.

These don’t upscale, do they? I think it runs at the native ps2 resolution. Well, I still love the game, despite the strange hiccups it has. The first-person segments are still one of my favorite ideas in the Silent Hill series.

They’re not upscaled, it’s just like the PSOne Classics.

Darn, well thank you for the quick reply!

Best thing about this is you get the proper experience of the PS2 classic. None of the HD Collection nonsense that we saw of SH2 and 3. I hope that if Code Veronica X is any indication that Konami will see fit to release SH2 and SH3 on PS2 classic PSN at some point despite the HD release already available.

Hopefully these will be followed up by other regional releases in the future. But if this is any indication it’s that Japan hasn’t forgotten about silent hill 4.

Yeah, I’d kind of like an XBLA or PSN port of 2-4.
Those HD collections were really, really bad. Just port them. 3 and 4 are still gorgeous looking games anyway.

I hope so. This one was my favorite.

SH4 always scared me the most of all the SH games. Would prefer an HD/up scaled version, but I don’t think Konami will be doing that anytime soon again, after the disaster that struck the HD collection.

Nope. Tomm Hulett won’t allow this.

Yes. This is probably my favorite SH. Very underrated. I still own my original Xbox copy, but i can’t play it properly due to the crappy Xbox 360 emulation. So if they bring this over, i will be all over it :D but Konami being Konami, i really doubt it…
