Solace Creek – Atmospheric Horror Game Inspired by PSX Era Offers Free Demo

Developed by Starlit Studio, based in Cologne, Germany, Solace Creek is an upcoming atmospheric psychological horror game sporting a retro PSX look, inspired by the look and feel of classics of the genre like Silent Hill and Alien: Isolation.

Solace Creek is an atmospheric mystery-horror adventure with a dark & broody atmosphere and a retro PSX-era look, trapping players in an abandoned research facility full of secrets. It’s for lovers of story-driven, atmospheric horror games with philosophical themes, puzzle-solving, light stealth, and surreal storytelling.

In the game, you wake up alone in an abandoned science station, clutching strange crimson coins, while something stalks you through the dark. It’s a surreal, story-driven experience with strong horror and mystery elements.

Description:

You awaken in an abandoned research facility with no memory of how you got there — only a cord around your neck, holding six red coins.

Trying to make sense of the situation, you soon learn that you’re outside of normal time and space. And the coins are ticking. One by one, they begin to wither — and when the last one is gone… something terrible will happen.

But you’re not alone. Others are still alive — scientists, wanderers, voices on the radio. Each with red coins of their own… and a reason to survive. But can they be trusted, or are they using you for their escape?

While alliances may falter, something far worse roams the dark halls — a monstrous presence that watches, whispers… and hunts in the shadows.

Solace Creek is currently in active development and will launch for Windows and macOS. A free demo is available on Steam that showcases the first 30 minutes of the game.
