Following its announcement and the first details shared in February, Silent Hill: Townfall continues to take shape. The recent release of “Home,” a track from the official soundtrack, confirms that the composer is none other than Anthony Scott Burns, who is better known by his stage name, Pilotpriest.
This is an interesting choice, especially considering the series’ long-standing connection with Akira Yamaoka’s music. The decision marks a clear shift in direction, with the soundtrack now being handled by a Western musician.
Burns, who is also known as a horror director for works such as Our House and Come True, has developed a musical style defined by dark and atmospheric sounds, as shown in the albums he has released since 2012. These influences are also present in “Home,” a track that leans toward a more minimal and melancholic tone, with a strong focus on the piano.
The track also carries clear echoes of “Promise,” the iconic theme from Silent Hill 2, though it moves toward heavier and more introspective tones that better match the Scottish setting of St. Amelia.
Silent Hill: Townfall, developed by Screen Burn and published by Annapurna Interactive, is expected to launch before the end of the year on PS5 and PC.
