S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be expanded with new content and updates, as confirmed by developers GSC Game World, who also revealed details about the PS5 release, including support for PS5 Pro.

The team explained that their short-term goal is to upgrade the game to Unreal Engine 5.5.4 to take advantage of new features from Epic Games’ engine and ensure better stability and performance. Unfortunately, this decision could delay the release of other updates, but GSC Game World is willing to take that risk.

Among the planned additions are binoculars, various night vision devices, new anomalies, new missions, new weather scenario, a new Master difficulty preset, and new A-Life zones with technical improvements and changes to combat and NPCs.

The update will also include an extended day/night cycle, a reworked loot system, and new stamina and energy drink mechanics. There will be an immersive display mode, updates to the equipment interface, general UI improvements, and various optimizations.

For the Zone Kit, new systems will improve audio, narrative tools, mod compatibility, and enhanced support for creating custom items, along with other technical upgrades. There will also be a holiday event on Discord and improvements to Stalker: Legends of the Zone Enhanced Edition.

Finally, it has been confirmed that the PS5 version (with PS5 Pro support) of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl will launch by the end of 2025.
