GSC Game World has announced the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl for PS5, as shown in the trailer. The game does not yet have an official release date for the Sony console, but it is expected to launch toward the end of the year.
The trailer created by GSC Game World shows the same characters from S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 engaging with the game before introducing information about the launch period and the upcoming PS5 Pro support, which the team is currently working on.
As for compatibility, the PS5 version will include support for the DualSense controller’s features, offering haptic feedback and adaptive triggers to provide a more immersive experience.
Rumors about a PS5 version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl have been circulating for three years, even though GSC Game World consistently denied that they were working on a conversion of their title for Sony’s platform.
In the end, given the big challenges the Ukrainian studio has faced since the Russian invasion, this announcement feels like a small miracle. Despite these problems, the developers have managed to keep supporting the PC and Xbox versions after launch and have found the time, resources, and drive to bring S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl to PS5.
