‘Ritual Tides’ Washes Up at Future Games Show, Fall 2025 Release Planned

Ritual Tides

Something dark just surfaced during the Future Games Show Summer Showcase, and its name is Ritual Tides. Revealed with a new trailer, this mysterious psychological horror game comes from a team of seasoned developers whose past credits include GTA V, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Star Citizen.

Ritual Tides strands you on a remote, eerie island teeming with secrets, and possibly a cult. The trailer paints a grim picture: ominous chants, feverish rituals, and a narrator whose calm, unnerving cadence wraps around you like fog off the sea. Coupled with harrowing imagery and uncanny pencil-style artwork, the atmosphere is thick with dread and surreal unease. It’s not just unsettling, it’s ritualistically unsettling.

Details on gameplay are still sparse, but what’s clear is that Ritual Tides wants to get under your skin rather than simply startle you. There’s a focus on slow-burning discovery, environmental storytelling, and psychological unraveling as you explore the island and attempt to uncover what exactly is happening and why you’re there.

The developers at Vertpaint haven’t nailed down an exact release date just yet, but Ritual Tides is targeting a Fall 2025 launch. Originally planned as a PC-exclusive, the game is now confirmed to be launching simultaneously on PC and consoles, expanding its reach and giving more players a chance to experience the game firsthand.

An exclusive gameplay reveal is already confirmed for the next Future Games Show, set to air later this summer. If the teaser leaves you intrigued (or thoroughly spooked), keep your eye on this one. You can view the new Ritual Tides teaser trailer below, and stay tuned for the next Future Games show for a deeper reveal.
