Resident Evil Requiem will arrive next February, about four and a half years after the previous main chapter, Village. During this time, fans only had the remake of Resident Evil 4 to keep them company while waiting.
The new game is highly anticipated and already very appreciated, as it has started winning several awards, with Capcom thanking players for their support.
At Gamescom 2025, Resident Evil Requiem won four different awards: Best Visuals, Best Audio, Most Epic Game, and Best Sony PlayStation Game (even though it is not produced by Sony and is not an exclusive title).
The wins were already known, but only now the official account on X has thanked fans, writing:
We’re honoured that Resident Evil Requiem was graced with 4 awards this year at Gamescom 2025. Thank you to everyone for your support at the show!
Interestingly, the Resident Evil account used a wordplay with the term “graced.” This is a clear reference to the game’s main character, Grace Ashcroft, who will have to survive many dangers in both first-person and third-person modes.
In related news, Resident Evil Requiem’s Steam tags hint at the long-awaited return of zombies, taking fans back to Raccoon City just months before release.
Resident Evil Requiem is set to release on February 27, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
