Resident Evil Requiem Story Expansion DLC Officially Confirmed

Resident Evil Requiem

Resident Evil Requiem has been a massive success, selling over 5 million already and continues to be another big hit for the franchise. Following the positive reception, the studio has already confirmed that it is working on the DLC.

Just recently, the official Twitter account of Resident Evil released a new video, featuring Koshi Nakanishi, who thanked fans for making Resident Evil Requiem a huge hit. He further confirmed that the team is already planning to make extra story content where fans will delve deeper into the world of Requiem.

However, the new content won’t be coming out anytime soon, as the team asks for patience because it will take some time:

We’re hard at work on it now. It will take some time, so we ask for your patience and hope that you’ll look forward to it.

Forbidden Requiem

Since the game was met with such a positive reception, story-based expansions aren’t a huge surprise, as previous entries in the franchise like Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil Village and even Resident Evil 4 Remake were expanded later on. Still, what makes the news interesting is the possibilities of things we could see in the DLC.

In the official video, before revealing the story expansion now in development slide, Koshi Nakanishi showed off a few other images, with one having the title “Forbidden Requiem” and featuring Leon Kennedy suggesting some sort of love interest for the character following the recent hype around his marriage.

Another image hinted at a Candy Crush-style Resident Evil theme game and much more. While none of them looked bad and could actually be interesting, it is unknown whether Nakanishi was actually subtly hinting or just joking around, based on the recent rumours. Nevertheless, we will get to hear more about DLC in the coming months.

The developers have also confirmed that a photo made and a mini game will also be coming in the title. Both of the things will be added in the May update patch. The title will also continue to receive additional patches to improve gameplay. More information around the title is likely to be shared in the coming months, so you can follow us to stay updated on all of them.
