The next mainline entry in the iconic Resident Evil franchise is just a month away, the developers are surely thinking about the future and what to work on next for the fans.
While Capcom is already working on several rumored projects, including a remake of Resident Evil Code Veronica, which is reportedly in deep development and planned for release in the first half of 2027. However, it appears that the team may have other things on their minds to work on.
During a recent interview with 4Gamer, the director of Resident Evil Requiem, Koshi Nakanishi, talked about multiple things, including a new Resident Evil Revelations game. When asked whether he had plans to release a story between two games in the form of a new Revelations entry, Nakanishi stated:
I’ve thought about what the people in the Resident Evil universe were doing to some extent, so I think it would be interesting if the opportunity arose.
Even though it doesn’t give away much to the fans yet, at least it is good to know that the Resident Evil Requiem director has been thinking about it, and it may actually become a thing in the future with a modern game.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 was released over a decade ago, so a new title with a modern twist would be exciting for sure, especially after the recent lore. The developers would only pursue this if they have the time and opportunity in the future, so it’s not something to take literally right now
In other news, Capcom seems to be ready for the launch of Resident Evil Requiem, as they claim that the next entry in the franchise will have the most unpredictable zombies in the history of the franchise.
