After many rumors over the past few months, fans were eagerly expecting an announcement about the next Resident Evil game during the Summer Game Fest, and their expectations were met. We won’t have to wait long to play it, as the release date is set for February 27th, 2026.
At the end of the show hosted by Geoff Keighley, Capcom officially announced Resident Evil Requiem, the ninth chapter in the survival horror series. Below, you can watch the very first official trailer, which takes us back to Raccoon City.
The trailer introduces Grace Ashcroft, who seems to be the game’s main character. She is a young FBI agent investigating a series of deaths caused by an unidentified disease. The case appears to be connected to another, and the agent is sent to investigate, where her mother, Alyssa Ashcroft (one of the protagonists from Resident Evil Outbreak), died eight years ago.
In the following scenes, we see Grace waking up injured and tied to a bed. There are some cryptic moments, a view of a Raccoon City devastated after a bombing decades ago, and a series of encounters with disturbing creatures.
