Nintendo Direct Features New Look at Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2

Resident Evil Requiem

During the recent Nintendo Direct, Capcom presented a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, the upcoming horror title set to release on February 27, 2026. The video consists of gameplay footage taken from the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, although it does not reveal many new details.

The trailer once again confirms the presence of the two main characters: Grace Ashcroft, technical intelligence analyst for the FBI, and Leon S. Kennedy, a well-known main character from previous entries in the series. The two will cross paths in Raccoon City, the location where the entire Resident Evil saga began.

The footage shows stealth-focused gameplay sections featuring Grace, alongside more action-oriented sequences starring Leon. Overall visual quality appears solid, especially considering that the Nintendo Switch 2 hardware is less powerful than PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.

In other news, director Koshi Nakanishi confirmed that Resident Evil Requiem’s zombies will be the most unpredictable in the series and that the game avoids Resident Evil 6’s multi-protagonist mistakes.

Also, if you’re waiting to play and want to be fully prepared, here are the Resident Evil games you should play before Requiem.

Resident Evil Requiem will be released on Nintendo Switch 2, PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
