First Look at New ‘Resident Evil’ Movie Could Happen Next Week

We recently reported that the new Resident Evil movie has already entered post-production, as indicated on the official IMDb page. This has now been officially confirmed by the producer of the movie, Roy Lee, who stated that Zach Cregger, the director behind Weapon and Barbarian and now working on the Resident Evil movie, is actively editing the movie for a September release.

During a recent interview with Dread Central, Lee teased fans, saying they may finally get to see something about the movie as soon as next week, as they plan to reveal it at CinemaCon later this year. Lee stated that there will be some sort of presence of the movie at the event. He said:

It’s too early in the process, but I think something will be at CinemaCon later this year. There’ll be some presence.

Even though the producer has not disclosed anything more about the movie, this is still massive news for the franchise’s fans who have been waiting for official updates. Since CinemaCon 2026 is happening from April 13th – 16th, we are only a week away from finally seeing something about the movie.
