Kinetic Games has announced the release date for Chronicle, calling it the “biggest update” yet for the cooperative survival horror game Phasmophobia. The update will be available in early access on PC, as well as PlayStation and Xbox consoles, starting June 24th.

This update is set to revolutionize the investigation system, expanding the investigation process with three new types of evidence. One of these is the Sound Recorder, a device that captures paranormal sounds and responses from the Spirit Box. This will add another layer of immersion and tension to the gameplay experience.

PhasmophobiaIn addition to these features, the Journal will be completely revamped. The “Photos” section will be replaced by a “Media” section, where players can store photos, videos, and audio recordings. This update will make it easier to organize and access the evidence that has been collected. The progression and rewards system will also undergo significant changes: the first evidence collected will be labeled as “Unique,” offering more XP and cash, while duplicate evidence will give smaller rewards.

The update will also bring a new main menu, several technical optimizations, and “many eerie surprises” that will be revealed later. Furthermore, this update lays the groundwork for a future rework of the Grafton Farmhouse map.
