Motoi Okamoto has played a major role in reviving the iconic Silent Hill franchise after years without a new entry. While the franchise was considered dead at one point, Motoi Okamoto led its comeback as the producer on titles like Silent Hill 2 Remake and Silent Hill f, and even playing the director role on Silent Hill: The Short Message.
He’s played a significant role over the past few years, leading the franchise and working on multiple titles simultaneously.
However, it seems that the Silent Hill franchise may see a turn as Motoi Okamoto has confirmed he is leaving Konami. What’s more surprising is that the developer has already joined Kojima Productions.
In a recent interview with Konami developers, we were told about the exit of Silent Hill boss Motoi Okamoto. While no reasons have been revealed for his departure from the studio, we think he will make an official tweet soon, announcing his exit and further confirming his new venture at Kojima Productions.
Now that Okamoto and Kojima have shaken fans, curiosity is already at an all-time high about what they would work on together, or will we finally get to see more experiences like P.T.
This may turn out to be absolutely abysmal for the Silent Hill franchise, as we report that the next entry is already unclear. The studio could struggle without Okamoto, who’s been leading the franchise for quite a while.
