Dying Light, a game which launched on PC with its fair share of issues, has today been patched on PC with patch version 1.40. The patch addresses one of the biggest complaints with the game: performance. Having suffered from fluctuating framerates myself (as well as Zack who did our review), today’s patch has introduced quite the performance boost, introducing optimizations, stability fixes, and better memory usage.
After installing the update, I’ve noticed that I am now able to maintain an FPS above 60 in most situations, allowing me to raise my game’s shadow and texture options. Techland promised further improvements to the game, and it looks like they’ve delivered. As well as overall improvements, the patch also addresses modding support and fixes some general bugs. The full patchnotes are available at the link.
Good job, Techland. This is a step in the right direction, and we appreciate the post-release support.
