‘Imprinted’ Drops New Gameplay Trailer Highlighting Audio Mechanics

Imprinted

Imprinted is another promising indie title announced at the start of the year and is set to release later in 2026. The game is a psychological horror audio-focused story developed by indie studio Cobalt Lane.

During IGN Fan Fest 2026, the developers released a new gameplay trailer for Imprinted. It gives players a clear look at the game’s audio engineering tools. As the experience is audio-focused, the latest gameplay offers an in-depth look at that aspect. It also shows how the mechanic will impact the player.

The use of WaveSplice, a simulated audio-engineering tool, is showcased in the trailer. It is primarily used to recover the broken mixed audio in the title. In addition, players are shown a glimpse of a disturbing new audio assignment that gives a sense of the eerie challenges they will face in the game.

The story itself seems compelling. The game follows Vincent Brandt, a talented sound engineer whose job is to restore old, damaged recordings. Early on, he receives an assignment to restore cassette tapes from the 1970s belonging to musician Viola Fossati, who mysteriously disappeared years ago.

As Vincent digs deeper, he begins uncovering strange and disturbing details hidden within the recordings. Players will explore his computer, examine files, and piece together the truth behind the mystery.

Imprinted is currently available to wishlist on Steam. You can check out the developer’s recent dev commentary below:
