In the world of video games, even the most beloved titles can disappear suddenly. Evil Dead: The Game, a multiplayer game based on the famous horror series by Sam Raimi, is the latest example of this. The game was released in 2022 by Saber Interactive, but it has now disappeared from digital stores.
Saber Interactive confirmed today through Steam that the game has been intentionally and globally removed, although the servers will still be online for players who already bought it. They did not give any details about why this decision was made, but it seems likely it is due to the expiration of licenses.
The company said:
We can confirm we’ve begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts. Anyone who has purchased the game will still be able to play it as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone.
We want to extend a sincere thank you to our community, to those who have been part of the game from the very beginning, and those who have recently joined us. We appreciate all of your support.
