Dying Light: The Beast Moves Up Launch, Hits 1 Million Pre-Orders

Dying Light: The Beast

Techland has some good news for fans of its long-running survival horror series. Dying Light: The Beast is arriving earlier than expected. Originally set for September 19th, the game will now launch worldwide on September 18th at 9 AM PDT. Even better, it’s already crossed one million pre-orders.

Franchise director Tymon Smektala explained the move in a new statement:

Seeing the excitement from our community for the return of Kyle Crane in Dying Light: The Beast, and knowing the game is ready, we wanted to do something special for our players. We pushed ourselves to make the impossible possible, and that’s why we’re releasing the game a little earlier. I can’t wait to see players’ reactions when they finally step into the world of The Beast.

Priced at $59.99, the game launches for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC, with the previous-gen Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions arriving later this year. Owners of Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Ultimate Edition can claim The Beast at no additional cost.

Dying Light: The Beast

Set years after the events of the original game and its expansion The Following, The Beast sees the return of Kyle Crane, now scarred by years of experiments at the hands of the enigmatic Baron. Breaking free, Crane sets out on a campaign of revenge, battling both the Baron’s private army and the ever-present infected. Expect Volatiles to be even deadlier than before, with Techland promising more variety in zombie encounters this time around.

With the series’ trademark parkour mechanics and a darker, more personal story, Dying Light: The Beast looks poised to satisfy longtime fans, and its one-day sooner release date makes the wait that much shorter.
