Dying Light: The Beast Has Been Delayed, New Release Date Announced

Techland announced that Dying Light: The Beast has been delayed. The new release date is now set for September 19th, about a month after the previously planned date of August 22nd. This is not a major delay, but the extra time will allow Techland to focus more on polishing the game so it reaches its highest possible quality at launch.

Despite the delay, Dying Light: The Beast will still be playable at Gamescom 2025, where a demo will be available to the public at the Techland booth in Hall 6. Additional updates on the game are expected soon.

The team points out that recent previews and related articles brought a lot of positive feedback, which gave them confidence and satisfaction. However, it also motivated them to push even harder during this final stage of development.

In an official statement, the Polish team said:

It has always been our goal to make Dying Light: The Beast the best Dying Light game we’ve ever released. To honor this promise, we’ve made the decision to move the release date to September 19, 2025 to allow for extra polishing work.

They added:

We understand that this may be disappointing, but our experience has shown how important the first impression is. With just four additional weeks, we can address final details that make all the difference between good and great.

The team plans to work on several specific areas, including balancing gameplay, user interface clarity, improved physics, and better character animations and cutscenes. They also aim to include many small but meaningful details.

In other news, Techland confirms it will support Dying Light 2 for at least five years, through 2027, while developing Dying Light: The Beast.
