Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss was first announced in March last year by publisher Nacon and developer Big Bad Wolf Studio, who previously worked on titles like The Council and Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong.
A release date for the game has finally been confirmed. Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss will launch on April 16th, 2026. The team has also released a new gameplay trailer that showcases brand new footage of the game in action.
The latest trailer focuses on the investigation side of the game and highlights the main character of the title, Noah, exploring an underwater mining station while searching for clues. The station looks abandoned, and the scary corridors are covered in blood and runic symbols, suggesting that some violent or supernatural event occurred there.
Noah has to solve puzzles and investigate his surroundings to discover the truth behind what really went wrong at the mining station. As he digs deeper to uncover the mystery, the feeling of terror and fear rises. The publishers have also confirmed a public demo of the game, available as part of Steam Next Fest on February 23rd, 2026.
Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss is currently set to release on April 16th on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam.
