Bloober Team’s latest trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn just dropped at Gamescom 2025, and it might be the most ambitious look at the game yet.
The trailer opens unexpectedly from the perspective of a cat, before plunging into chaos, where grotesque monsters prowl the streets, telekinetic powers twist the player’s environment, and anti-gravity sections seemingly blend sci-fi with the cinematic horror we’re used to from Bloober Team. It’s kind of a wild, disorienting showcase of the strange world Bloober is building for their new IP.
In addition, fans of survival horror couldn’t help but notice a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment at the timestamp of 2:30. A character bearing an uncanny resemblance to Silent Hill 2’s James Sunderland makes a brief appearance, and is looking much worse for wear. Whether this is a clever Easter egg or something more substantial is currently unclear, but it’s certainly notable given Bloober Team’s work on last year’s acclaimed Silent Hill 2 Remake.
Beyond the speculation, the trailer delivers Cronos: The New Dawn’s direction. It blends atmospheric exploration with mechanics that push beyond traditional horror tropes, shaping up to be something both unsettling and novel. With monsters, mind-bending physics, and that curious feline perspective, this is shaping up to be a title worth watching.
